The heavy rainfall on Tuesday 25th of June is likely to result in high mosquito numbers in the upcoming days. The rainfall was largely confined to the south western part of Grand Cayman. Swamp surveillance has identified large numbers of developing larvae from Camana Bay down to the airport area. Additional surveillance will be carried out today in the South Sound and Red Bay areas. MRCU has scheduled aerial larviciding operations to begin on the 27th June on the Southern part of the peninsula from Camana Bay down the airport area. Adult biting mosquitoes are expected from the 5th of July onwards.
